Car Classes

The classes of vehicles listed above are the classes that may be raced at the Maryville R/C Raceway. However, On Saturday nights we normally run 1/10 Scale Sprint Cars (18 local drivers), 4WD Electric Late Model Touring Cars, 4WD Nitro Late Model Touring Cars, and 1/18 Electric Cars. The new Losi Sprint car, the “Slider”, will soon become a separate class. The “Sliders” will have a separate stock class which will race “as is” out of the box with no hop-ups allowed. There will also be a sport(beginners) class and an unlimited class.

As you may have noticed, the largest cars we race are 1/10 scale and are limited to a maximum nitro motor size of .18 or a maximum battery voltage of 7.4 volts. The raceway staff will try to accommodate all requests and decide what is in the best interest of all concerned. Safety is of paramount importance and unsafe practices will not be tolerated. Racing will be discontinued in hazardous weather conditions.

Although we try to provide the best conditions for racing, it is sometimes necessary to combine classes and or experience levels. We try to maintain a maximum of 6 vehicles and minimum of 3 vehicles in a race. Obliviously, it would take a long time to complete multiple heats and a final for all the classes listed. It may be necessary to combine classes to complete in a timely manner or attain the minimum of 3 vehicles for a race. Driver approval for combinations is required and discussed at the drivers meeting. Only combinations indicated by the “>“or “carrot” on the car class chart will race together.
